Letter by the great Gaon Rabbi Baruch Sorotzkin Rosh Yeshivas Telz to the great Gaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapiro Rosh Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov, Cleveland, 1967.
In the letter, Rabbi Sorotzkin asks to accpet to the Be’er Yaakov Yeshiva a sharp student of his yeshiva who wishes to immigrate and study in the Holy Land.

The Gaon Rabbi Baruch Sorotzkin (1917-1979) one of the greatest Rosh Yeshivas in the USA and a member of Moetzes gedolei HaTorah. The son of the Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin Av Beis Din of Lutzk and author of the Oznayim LaTorah. In his youth studied at the yeshivas of Lithuania with Gedolei Hador Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman and Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz. After the Holocaust, he had many students at the Telz Yeshiva in Cleveland Ohio.
The Gaon Rabbi Moshe Shmuel Shapiro (1916-2006) Rosh Yeshivas Be’er Yaakov, a member of Moetzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel and of Degel HaTorah. A Disciple of the Geonim Rabbi Elchonon Wasserman, Rabbi Baruch Dov Leibowitz, Rabbi Reuven Katz, Rabbi Yitzchak Ze’ev Soloveitchik of Brisk and Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. Alongside his great Amal in Torah and Mussar, teaching Torah and Yirah and leading the yeshiva, he was involved in public affairs, taking an active part in the leadership of Agudas Yisroel and making an effort to go to dozens of assemblies and conferences and advising their participants. In his last years, he worked, by the request of Rabbi Elazar Menachem Shach, as part of Degel HaTorah to establish many yeshivas and was acknowledged as one of Gedolei Yisroel.
