Polemic Sefer: ‘Nitzachon’ – Amsterdam, [1709]. The personal copy of the Holy Rav Rabbi Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Sanz, with his handwritten signature.
Sefer Nitzachom, by Rabbi Yom Tov Lipman of Yelhoisen. Amsterdam, [1709]. A Sefer against the Christians and decisve polemic with them, arranged according to Parashos HaShavua and Seder Kitvei HaKoddesh. This is the first edition of the Sefer that was published by Jews, when more than fifty years previously, in 1644 it was published by Christians in Altdorf and Nurenberg, with an addition of a section in a foreign language containing polemic against Judaism.
On the flyleaf, the holy handwritten signature: ‘Aryeh Leib{u}sh Halberstam‘ and a stamp ‘Avraham Herbest Neisedentz’ of Sanz.
The Holy Rav Rabbi Aryeh Leibush of Gribov-Sanz [1852-1935] the son of the Holy Rav rabbi Aharon Av Beis Din of Kreiz. A leading disciple of Maran of Sanz, who studied with him Chevruta and spoke of his wonderous Torah greatness. He was the son-in-law of the Holy Rav Rabbi Moshe of Rozvadov the son of the Holy Rav Rabbi Eliezer of Djikov an dthe son-in-law of the Holy Rav the Yitav Lev of Siget. Served as Av Beis Din of Gribov and later of Sanz.
110 leaves. 12 cm. Wear and moth holes. Stains. No lack. The flyleaf is slightly worn. New elegant leather binding. Good-very good condition.
