Basic in Avodas HaChassidus! יחזק לבו ויקוה להשם יתברך’ מעודד ענוים שיחזקו גם כן’ Leaf on Chassidus and Avodas Hashem, writtenby the holy hand of the Holy Rav author of ‘Yessod HaAvodah’ of Slonim. Untypically of him – according to Seder HaParasha. Parashas Shelach lecha, 1874.
It seems that on the leaf before us he wrote the Divrei Torah he had said on Parashas Shelach 1874 [? the year is possibly 1871 or 1877]. His Ma’amarin include his basic Ma’amar on Rofeh Lishvurei Lev, about the importance of each and every soul of Yisroel and its virtue. In the second Ma’amar, he begins citing R. Nachum on the verse ‘Shamra Nafshi ki Chassid Ani’.
The Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Weinberg author of ‘Yessod HaAvodah’ and the founder of the Slonim Chassidus [1803-1883], the greatest disciple of the Holy Rav Rabbi Noah Melechevitch and the Holy Rav Rabbi Moshe of Kobrin. Immediately after the passing of his Rav of Kobrin [the 29th of Nissan 1858], his disciples chose him as his successor and made him their Rav and leader. He supported and encouraged the settlement of the Holy Land and was the preseident of Kollel Reisin. Encouraged many of his Chassidim to immigrate to the Holy Land and sent there his three great grandsons. His most important Sefer is "Yessod HaAvodah". This Sefer is one of the few Chassidus Seforim that were not written according to the Parashiyos of the Torah but as a well-organized doctrine explaining the priciples of Chassidus.
[1] leaf written on both its sides in clear, dense script. Several Ma’amarim on Parashas Shelach and the sin of the Meraglim. Restoration to the margins without lack. Some wear including blearing of several words. Good-very good condition.
