Rabbi Eliyahu Zalman ben Rabbi Pesach Widrin, of Moscow. Author of "Migdal Oz" on Or Zaru’ah Tracttae Berachot (1891) and Shabbat (1901). Authored also the Sefer "Chavatzeles HaSharon" on Shir HaShirim (1900). In the foreword of his second Sefer, in 1905, he wrote that when he came to Jerusalem he saw "The pillar of Torah in Zion the house of the Talmud Torah and the great Etz Chaim Yeshiva" and decided to reprint his Sefer and give the profits from its sale to this institution. Was renowned for "his true love for all the institutions of Torah and Yirah, and especially those in the Holy Land" (Igros HaRe’aya, B, p. 162).
