Historical! Letter by the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Amran Blau and the renowned activist Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Porush before the second great Congress, in the shadow of the 1929 Riots.
in the letter which was sent on behalf of the center of Tze’irei Agudas Yisroel, Rabbi Amram Blau and the activist Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Porush write to Rabbi Shemaya Luria – one of the activists of Agudas Yisroel and an important Slonim Chassid – that due to the terrible situation in the country following the bloodshed by the Arabs of the area they are prevented from taking part in the second great Congress in Vienna that year. They tell him that since he will be the only representtaive of Agudas Yisroel from the Holy Land, he should see to it that the matters of Eretz Yisroel be heard. Later in the letter, they sorrowfully complain about the incompetence of the management of Agudas Yisroel in face of the atrocities that were committed in the Riots that year and that when the leaders of the Zionist Movement make tremendous efforts to raise funds for the victims, "the worldwide Agudas Yisroel did not see fit to even send a telegarm. What shall we say". In the last lines of the letter which were written by Rabbi Porush, he encourages Rabbi Shemaya to work mightily in the Congress for the residents of the country.
Enclosed with the letter is a leaf of demands by Tze’irei Agudas Yisroel in Eretz Yisroel from the management. This document is signed by important activists: Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Katznelboigen, Rabbi Amram Blau and Rabbi Yehuda Blau.
