In the letter, which appears on official stationery, the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Rosovsky confirms that the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel Tzirkind "serves as Rav is Slabodka near Breslau in the vicinity of Vilna".
The Gaon Rabbi Yosef Rosovsky, one of the rabbis of Vilna, was the grandson of the Gaon author of the "Cheshek Shlomo" (the son-in-law of the son-in-law of Rabbi Aharon Merkels). In his old age, he was exiled to Siberia and it is not known what happened to him.
