Divrei Torah dealing with matters of the Yamim Noraim (beginning with a quote of the Gemora in Rosh Hashana "אמר הקדב"ה אמרו לפניי מלכויות…"), exile and redemption and more. The year of writing was not noted on the sheet.
Amud HaHora’ah Maran the Gaon Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv [1910-2020] Amud HaHora’ah Posek Hador. The son of the Gaon Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv and the grandson of the Kabbalist Gaon the Tzaddik author of the ‘Leshem’. At the age of 14, he immigrated to the Holy Land, living all his life in the Meah She’arim neighborhood, in never-ending study of the Torah. Was renowned all around the world for his special Psikah, genius and diligence. Served as Dayan of the supreme Beis Din of appeals of the Chief Rabbinate, which he left in 1973 in the midst of the Mamzerim affair. He was one of the supporters of establishing the ‘Degel HaTorah’ party and in his old age was acknowledged as Posek Hador and the leader of the Lithuanian community.
