First edition. with an illustration on the title page and illustrations of the Western Wall and the Cave of the Machpelah.
[1], 49, 49-56; 50, 53-59, 58-130 leaves. Mispagination. One leaf is missing from Choshen Mishpat Siman 28. to leaf 7, Yoreh Deah. to leaf 56, Even HaEzer. Then: Choshen Mishpat. Actually, only some of the leaves of the Sefer were printed by Yisroel Bak, while other leaves were printed by the partners Yechiel Bril, Michl Cohen and Yoel Moshe Solomon in 1863.

The Rishon LeZion Rabbi Chaim David Chazan (1869-1790) one of the great Gedolei Yisrael in his generation, the son of the Rishon LeZion Rabbi Yosef Raphael Chazan author of Chikrei Lev (one of the most well-known Shu"t sefarim among Sephardic Poskim and in general). In his youth he served as the head of the Shochtim of Izmir. Later, in 1840, he was appointed to serve as the head of the Rabbanim of the town, a position he held for several years. In 1855 he immigrated to the Land of Israel and settled in Jerusalem. There he served as a Rabbi alongside the greatest contemporary Rabbanim of Jerusalem Rabbi Moshe Benvenisti, Rabbi Chaim Nissim Abulafia and more. In Jerusalem, he made a great effort to help the members of the Yishuv and even travelled as a Shadar -fundraiser to Vienna. In 1861, he was appointed Chacham Bashi and Rishon LeZion, a position he held until his passing. He authored many compositions: the Shu"tN div Lev, Torat HaZevach – Dinei Shechita, Yitav lev – Drushim and more.
The Rav Yisroel ben R. Avraham Bak, a talented artist and scholar, immigrated to Safed from Berditchev in 1832 and opened a printery there, alongside his work on public matters, the development of the Jewish Yishuv in the town and assisting the sick. After the earthquake that destroyed Safed, including his printery, he moved in 1839 to Jerusalem with other refugees from Safed. Sir Montefiore sent for him from London a printing press so that he will open the first Hebrew printery in Jerusalem and provide work for its employees, In Jerusalem too he continued his work for the public. He published the "Chavatzelet" newspaper, founded the "Tiferes Yisroel" synagogue and a Beis Midrash in his yard in the Old City.
