Couple of letters by the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Shemarya Gur Aryeh, the ‘Rashag’ the son-in-law of the Holy Rav the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch, after his in-law’s passing, before the acceptance of the presidency by the Holy Rav the Lubavitcher Rebbe and immediately after its acceptance.
Two letters by the Gaon Chassid Rabbi Shemraya Gur Aryeh [1898-1989] the great son-in-law of Maran the Holy Rav the Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch, the chairman of the executive committee of the center of the ‘Tomchei Temimim’ yeshivas Lubavitch in the USA and Canada, written during the important and fatal period between the passing of the Rebbe Rayatz and close to the acceptance of the presidency by the Lubavitcher Rebbe. before and after the acceptance of the presidency.
The letters were sent to his close friend Rabbi Chanoch Hendel Havlin of Jerusalem and deal with the purchase of Chassidic Seforim, with obtaining Sichot and writings as well as Kabbalistic Kitvei Kodesh. The first letter was written on the third of Iyar 1950 and the second on the 17th of Iyar 1951. Possibly, the proximity to Lag BaOmer Hillula DeRashbi led the Rashag to write about ‘Kitvei Kodesh’ and additional Kabbalistic writings.
[2] letters on official stationery. Each letter with a different blank. Stain and fold marks. Varying sizes. Very good general conditon.
