Letter for the good health of the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Avraham Alter Landau Av Beis Din of Edelin, the beloved son-in-law of the holy Rav the miracle worker Rabbi Yeshaya of Kerestir, handwritten by his holy son the holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Landau, from the time of the illness of his holy father, in which he prays for the health of his father who is about to have a kideny surgery. 1939.
‘In the days of the Omer may the Shomer save by Gzeras Kal VaChomer … may he have a speedy recovery’. In the letter, the holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch writes to the Rabbinic Chassid Rabbi Shmuel Binyomin Heimlich an expert Shoches and Bodek that his holy father Yisroel Avraham Alter ben Idel needs good health since he is suffering from a kidney disease and is about to have a kidney operation ‘Nichen Shteiner’. He says that his father is staying in Budapest and thanks him deeply for the charity money, adding and blessing with good tidings and additional blessings.
The holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Avraham Alter landau Av Beid Din of Edelin and the son-in-law of the holy Rav of Kerestir author of ‘Chassan Yeshaya’. A disciple of the holy Gaon Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald of Satmar. For almost twenty years he lived near his father-in-law in Kerestir, following him constantly. Nevertheless, he did not become involved with the matters of the masses who came and purely taught Torah all the days. Eventually, he was asked by the Edelin community to serve as its Rav and there he established his important yeshiva. Authored important Seforim and his son and successor, the holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch, the writer of this letter, published them. His brothers were also Geonim in Hungary author of ‘Shulchan Melachim’ and Av Beis Din of Legenmiahly.
