‘May We Merit seeing the Speedy Redemption of Yisroel and the Coming of the Messiah’ Rare Letter Handwritten by the Holy Gaon Rabbi Baruch Ber of Kemnitz for His Yeshiva, with an Addition by the Pious Rebbetzen

Special letter handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Baruch Dov Leibowitz Rosh Yeshivas ‘Beus Yitzchak’ in Kemnitz, asking and pleading his friend and relative of the Rebbetzen the philanthropist Rabbi Alter Posranavsky of Vilnius to send money for the Kemnizt Yeshiva which is in a difficult situation and blesses him with all blessings. Menachem Av 1937.

In the letter, Maran the Gaon Rabbi Baruch Ber pleads to be sent two hundred gold coins from Va’ad HaYeshivos on behalf of the philanthropic donor, the relative of the Rebbezten. Already at the beginning of the letter, Rabbi Baruch Ber blesses him with all blessings and ‘May we merit seeing the speedy redemption of Yisroel and the coming of the Messiah Amen’. 

Untypically, the Rebbetzen added, in Yiddish, pleading lines handwritten by her describng the difficult financial situation of the yeshiva in Kemnitz, signing  ‘פון מיר אייער קוזינע פייגיל’. (from me, your cousin Fiegel)

The Holy Gaon Rabbi Baruch Ber Leibowitz (1870-1939), one of the greatest of is generation. Was renowned for his holiness and piousness, alongside his great genius. His leading disciple was Rabbi Chaim of Brisk. In his youth, he established in Kremenchuk a yeshiva, which he headed. In 1904, he was appointed the Rosh Yeshiva of the "Knesses Beis Yitzchak" Yeshiva which was established by Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Rabinowitz the on of Rabbi Yitzchak Elchonon Spektor and the Rav of Kovno. Authored the Seforim of Birkas Shmuel on the Shas, which are inalienable assets of the religious world.

[1] postcard. 15X10 cm. Handwritten on both its sides and signed by Rabbi Baruch Dov Leibowitz and with additional llines handwritten and signed by the Rebbetzen. Filing perforations. The place of the postage stamp has been erased. Very good condition. Rare condition.
