Sefer Ma’asseh Rokeach, by Rabbi Massud Chai Rokeach, on Mishneh Torah, section A [with the text]: Madah, Ahava, Zemanim. At its beginning, innovations on the Rambam handwritten by ancient Geonim. Meir de Zara Press, Venice, [1742]. First edition, which was published in the author’s lifetime. 

[8], 286 leaves, 28 cm. Renewed binding with gilt lettering. 

Rabbi Massud Chai ben Rabbi Aharon Rokeach (1690-1768) a disciple of Rabbi Chaim Abulafia (the second) the Rav of Rabbi Yitzchak Hacohen Rappaport. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel from Izmir. In 1749, was sent as Shaliach Mitzvah to North Africa, served as Av Beis Din of Tripoli and was one of the leading rabbis of Libya. Authored several Seforim, "Ma’asseh Rokeach" on the Rambam the most renowned of them. Many of his innovations remained as manuscripts and some of them were lost over the years. 

Wear to binding, aging stains, due to the trimming of the leaves, there are several leaves in which the letters at the edge of the leaf were trimmed. Good-very good condition.
