Collection of letters by the Great Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Landau the Rav of Bnei Berak, one of the founders of its walls who kept the existence of Kashrus in the Holy Land, on matters of Kashrus, Pidyon Shvuyim and charity. 

* Early letter, handwritten entirely and signed by him and with his stamp, from his early days in Bnei Berak, recommendation and support of a charity fund in Jerusalem. Elul 1948. 

Official stationery. Filing perforations. 

* Printed letter, with his personal signature to the Bnei Berak municipality about the required and desirable suprvision of the butcher shops of Bnei Berak, due to the intention of estabishing an additional slaughterhouse in the city. The Rav states that the manpower for supervising the two butcher shops is limited and must be immediately increased. Tamuz 1959. 

Official stationery. Filing perforations. Stamp of the municipality. 

* Letter from the end of his life, on official stationery. Support and recommendation on an important religious family from Bnei Berak and for the release of one of its members from jail before Passover. Nissan 1985. 

Enclosed with this letter is the original envelope. 

The Gaon Rabbi Yaakov Landau (1893-1986), the admired Rav of Bnei Berak. After his father’s passing, he succeeded him under the influence of the Rabbi the Rashab.  In Russia, he headed several Torah and Chassidus institutions and worked for supporting religious life. Was close to the Rashab, the Rayatz and the Rogatchover Gaon. In 1934 he immigrated to the Holy Land and was appointed the Rav of Ramatayim (eventually, Hod HaSharon) and after a short period was appointed the Rav of Bnei Berak, a position he held for dozens of years until his passing.
