Unique! To Sustain Among Us Chachmei Yisroel, Poster for a Prayer for the Health of Maran the great Gaon Rabbi Meshulam David Soloveitchik of Brisk the eldest Rosh Yeshiva, hand-signed by the eldest leading rabbis of the generation, Maranan the Rosh Yeshiva the great Gaon Rabbi Yerachmiel Gershon Edelstein and Sar HaTorah the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky.
In this broadside, which was printed on an A4 leaf, Maran the Gaon Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, Rosh Yeshiva of the Ponovezh Yeshiva, president of Mo’etzes Gedolei HaTorah of Degel HaTorah and the eldest Rosh Yeshiva today, corrects the suggested version according to which it was written ‘The public of Bnei Torah and yeshiva students are called to …’ drawing a line on it and adding ‘The public is asked’, that is they entire public is asked to pray for the eldest Rosh Yeshiva and one of the greatest transmitter of the teachings.
This revised version, with the historical change and correction by Maran the Gaon Rabbi Gershon Edelstein, was the one that was published in the daily press and on bulletin boards.
