The holy handwritten signature of the ‘Heiliger Kreizer Rov’ the holy Rav Rabbi Aharon Halberstam of Kreis – Sanz, the son of Maran the Gaon the Divrei Chaim of Sanz on his personal copy of  Shefa Tal – Frankfurt am Main, 1719.

Sefer Shefa Tal, a key to Kabbalah, by Rabbi Shabtai Sheftel Horowitz of Prague. Frankfurt an Main, [1719]. Second edition. One of the basic Kabbalistic Seforim, with many important Kabbalistic illustrations.

Appearing on the title page is the holy stamp of Maran the Heiliger ‘Kreiser Rov’ the son and successor as Rav of Sanz of the holy Rav the Divrei Chaim of Sanz. Before the signature, several words blurred due to the ravages of time and bindings which damaged it, … in this Sefer the holy Aharon Halbetsram. Manuscripts by this holy Tzaddik are extremely rare

The final letters of the signature are slightly worn as well as the notation before the signature which is blurred due to the ravages of time and restoration with tape.

There is also a stamp of Rabbi Shlomo Wolf Klein [1814-1877], the friend of Rabbi Shimshon Raphael Hirsch who fought Hashem’s wars with him. One of the important rabbis of France and its Elsas district.

The holy Gaon Rabbi Aharon Halberstam the Rav of Sanz [1826-1903] who was known admiringly as ‘Der Kreiser Rov’ the Rav of the district and the vicinity. In his father’s lifetime he was appointed the Rav of the district ‘The Kreis’ and assisted his father in managing the rabbinate of the town. He fearlessly led the rabbinate, even dozens of years after his father’s passing. Before his passing, he burned many of his writings and therefore there are only few of his Torah innovations and writings handwritten by him are extremely rare. See his signature also in Me’orei Galicia volume 2 p. 414.

[2], 74, 76-80 leaves. 32 cm. Minor aging stains.  Repairs and moderate restorations with tape. A small tear to leaf 45 with lack of text. Slight wear to the title page and last leaf. Some dampness damage. New, impressive leather binding. Very good condition.
