The Selichot for all days of Selichot and varied prayers, the Nuremberg and Furth custom. [Furth], 1756, with a title page from the rare and important edition Wilhelmsdorf, 1714.
In the title page one can read: Selichot for the days of Elul and Tishrei and for the tenth month and Ta’anis Esther and to return Atara and Keter and the eve of Rosh Chodesh Nissan and the eve of Rosh Chodesh Av, to remove pain and sorrow. Printed by the Wilhelmsdorf Press. The very book before us, based on the above edition, was published in [Furth] 1756.
Varied ownership notations.
The title page was printed at the printery that was valued and appreciated by the holy Rav Rabbi Pinchas of Koretz:
Sefer Midrash Pinchas refers to the holy Rav Rabbi Pinchas Koretz’ attitude towards the varied printeries of his time, before the establishment of the printery of the Slavuta brothers – the holy sons of the holy Rav of Slavuta. And thus is written: The printery of Amsterdam was not considered important by him and he could not stand the Paritz printery. Only the Wilhelmsdorf printery was considered important by him.
[2], 56, 55-105, [1] leaves. 30 cm. The title page and the next page were printed in Wilhelmsdorf, 1714. The rest of this book was printed in [Furth] 1756.
The title page is slightly cut and worn. Moth perforations. Stains. Repairs with tape. Wear. A cut to the last leaf slightly affecting the text on its lower part. Original, worn semi-leather binding. Good condition.
