Rabbi Raphael Meir Panigel , HaRav Hamarpeh (1804-1893), the in-law of Rabbi Yaakov Shaul Elyashar. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel with his parents in 1807 and studied Torah with the sages of Jerusalem. Was appointed Shadar of the communities of Jerusalem and Hebron and travelled to raise funds in North Africa and Italy. In 1843, he returned to Jerusalem and was appointed Rosh Avos Beis Din and the president of the Sephardic Kollelos of Jerusalem. In 1863, he was sent again as a Shadar to Tunis and Morocco, there he became renowned as a miracle-worker. In 1880, he was appointed the Rishon LeZion. Authored the Sefer Lev Marpeh.
New binding, blemishes to the margins of the title page not affecting the text, gluings to the margins of the title page and the last leaf, short tears to the margins of some leaves, good condition.
