Rare and interesting! A broadside announcing the arrival of the Holy Rebbe Rayatz of Lubavitch to the Land of Israel during his famous journey, Jerusalem, 1929.
The journey of the Rebbe Rayatz to the Land of Israel took place following the Rebbe’s exile to Latvia and his inability to visit his ancestors’ graves. Therefore, the Rebbe decided to take a trip to the Land of Israel in order to visit the holy places and strengthen the members of the Jewish Yishuv in the country. The journey was well documented by a Chassid close to the Rebbe and by the Chassidic scholar Rabbi David Ze’ev Rottenberg.
Appearing on the broadside (which was published by the Toras Emes HaKelalis Yeshiva): "On the fifth day of Seder Devarim … will appear at the gates of our holy city Raban and Maoran shel Yisroel standing mightily to save Judaism in Russia … the holy Admor Maran Yosef Yitchak Schneersohn … those who cherish and love the Torah are asked to attend the reception …"
