‘I have heard that Mitzvos and Issurin do not cancel one another in Pesachim 115. I learned here in Chust about Passover 1865’ Ten lengthy, eloquent pages, Zot Toras Moshe Raban shel Yisroel the Maharam Schik, a complete responsum handwritten by him. Chust, Passover 1865.
Ten pages, written on both sides of five leaves, handwritten entirely by him, expanding on the depth of the Sugya in Tractate Pesachim leaf 115 on the issue of Maror and its swallowing and all that is involved.
The Gaon Raban shel Yisroel Maran Rabbi Moshe Schik – the Mahram Schik [1807-1879] one of the greatest of all generations. A leading disciple of Maran the Chassam Sofer. The Rav of Yergen near Pressburg and eventually the Rav of Chust, where this responsum was written. Rosh Yeshiva of a yeshiva with hundreds of students including renowned Gedolei Torah of following generations. Wrote Seforim on all subjects of the Torah, Halacha, Drush, Pilpul and other subjects.
