Letter by the great Gaon Rabbi Aahron Walkin author of ‘Zekan Aharon’ Av Beis Din of Pinsk Karlin, written by his son the Gaon Rabbi Shmuel David Walkin due to the sanctity of Chol HaMoed abou the establishment of yeshivas in Lithuania. Pinsk, 1928.
The letter was sent to the Gaon Rabbi Yisef Shuv the right hand man of Maran the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky and manager of Va’ad HaYeshivos, in which he describes his father’s efforts for ‘Shekel haKoddesh’, a fundraiser for Va’ad Hayeshivos. The lengthy letter also refers to the Gaon Rabbi Zalman Sorotzkin Av Beis Din of Lutzk, then Av beis Din of Zital.
The great Gaon Rabbi Aharon Walkin of Pinsk author of ‘Zekan Aharon’ (1865-1942) one of the greatest Poskim of Lithuania between the two world wars, a student of the Volozhin Yeshiva. Lighted Yisroel with his Torah and Psakim. The greatest rabbis sent him their halachic questions including the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer of Vilna and the Imrei Emes of Ger. Was one of the founders of Agudas Yisroel in Lithuania and did a lot of good work for Am Yisroel as its member. the Rav of several cities until he became the Rav of Pinsk.
