Historical! Rare letters on outlook by the confidante of Maran the holy Rav Rabbi Yoel of Satmar the Chassid Gaon Rabbi Yossel Ashkenazi, who tastefully elucidates a Ma’amar of his Rav of Satmar ‘in our generation, the way of the Besht has been forgotten’ and describes the controversy in Chassidic courts subsequent to this sharp statement. Williamsburg, 1860.
Subsequent to words said and written by the holy Rav Rabbi Yoel of Satmar about the Torah of the Besht being seemingly forgotten, there was a public outcry in the religious world in general and the Chassidic world in particular, his holy words causing a heated debate wherever they reached.
There were various interpretations of the Rabbi’s words by his Chassidim; however, this is the fine, clear and reasoned interpretation of the confidante of the Rav of Satmar, the Chassid Gaon Rabbi Yosef Ashkenazi. Rabbi Yosef was the one who published the Seforim of ‘VaYoel Moshe’ and was already the man to explain the holy words of the holy Rav of Satmar.
Alongside his lengthy and clear explanations, he describes the happenings in the Chassidic world, the explanations of the Rav of Kememiyus, the wonderful visit of the renowned holy Rav of Boian at the Rav of Satmar’s home, the responses in the Lubavitch court and the responses and debate in other Chassididc courts, the words of the holy Rav of Shinava and Kapust-Lubavitch and more.
In addition, the attitude toward the court of the holy Rav the Beis Yisroel of Ger is noted as well as matter of Kana’us shel Mitzvah, the State of Israel, connecting with evil people and more.
[2] lengthy aerograms, handwritten by the loyal Chassid Rabbi Yosef Ashkenazi of Satmar. Fold lines with small tears along them. Almost all the words are clearly understood. Good-very good condition.
