More than 300 Torah innovations on Parashiyos HaShavu’ah and the Haftaros, from the Torah of the Kesav Sofer, handwritten by his disciple, including innovations that have not been printed and some that have been printed yet appear here with textual variations.
Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Binyomin Sofer, the ‘Kesav Sofer’ (1815-1872), one of the leaders of Hungarian Jewry and the author of many Torah innovations, Talmudic innovations, Aggadic innovations, sermons, responsa and more. Succeeded his father the ‘Chasam Sofer’ as Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Pressburg, when he was only 24 years old. Since then until his passing had thousands of students who became rabbis in Hungary in the following generation.
