Warm blessings for the supporters of the Torah by the great Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel.
Lengthy letter, with warm blessings for the New Year, by the great Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, for the supporters of the Torah and the Gabai of the Mir Yeshiva in the USA Rabbi Shlomo Steinberg. Elul 1936.
In the letter, Maran the Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel blesses with Ketiva VeChatima Tovah, sincere warm blessings, noting that the students of the great yeshiva in Mir will pray on the upcoming Yamim Noraim.
Later he writes about the material situation of the holy yeshiva of Mir, ‘which is most terrible, although spiritually, it is flourishing and how wonderful and impressive is the sight of the hall of Torah packed with hundreds of the best of our sons, day and night studying Torah diligently, yet we are at loss as to find a solution to the terrible stress and the burden of the great debts bearing down on me’.
The letter is signed with the handwritten signature of the great Gaon Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel and with his stamp ‘Rosh Hayeshiva DeMir’.
