‘May he rise upward and upward in obtaining favor in the sight of all of those who see him’. Letter of holy blessings by the renowned Tzaddik Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Rachmastrivka, the son of the holy Rav Rabbi Yochonon and the grandson of the holy Rav the holy Maggid of Chernobyl, from the time he lived in Rachmastrivka.
On the personal stationery of ‘Menachem Nachum BeHarav Rabbi Yochonon of Rachmastrivak’, begins with the words ‘longevity to Hai Gavra and Yakira crowned by all virtues and many affectionate titles to the Rav Rabbi Moshe Elazar ben Rabbi Zvi’. The letter contains holy blessings by the holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Nachum ‘I will bless him … and may he rise upward and upward in obtaining favor in the sight of all of those who see him…’ The letter continues and Rabbeinu Menachem Nachum of Rachmastrivka expresses his gratitude for the charity and friendship he received by the Chassid and adds loving blessings ‘and may he and his family succeed with the triple blessing’.
The last line is really in his handwriting: with wholehearted love Menachem nachum BehaRav Yochonon…

Letters by the holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Rachmastrivka from the time he lived in Rachmastrivka many years before he immigrated to the Holy Land are uncommon.
The holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Nachum of Rachmastrivka [1843-1936] the son of the renowned holy Rav Rabbi Yochonon of Rachmastrivka the youngest son of the holy Rav the holy maggid of Chernobyl. Served as an Admor alongside his holy brothers Rabbi Mordechai and Rabbi Ze’ev. In 1924 immigrated to Jerusalem where he served with his brother Rabbi Ze’ev. His succeeding sons the Tzaddikim Rabbi Avraham Dov and Rabbi David also served together as Admorim. In his days, the holy court of Rachmastrivka became a magnet for the residents of Jerusalem and for new immigrants to the Holy land before World War II and many flocked to it.
As his holy brother, he was famed for his holy blessings which were fulfilled due to his modesty, sacredness and the power of his Avodah.
