beloved grandson and successor of the Holy Rav and wonder worker Rabbi Yeshaye’le of Kerestir. His stamps is on the flyleaf.
The holy Rav Rabbi Meir Yosef of Kerestir (1878-1944), son of the holy Rabbi Baruch of Brizdovitz, grandson of the righteous sages of Koznitz, Lizhensk, Ohr LaShemayim, Ropshitz, Linsk, Ziditchoiv, Komarno and many more. A disciple of the holy Gaon of Mad author of the ‘Levushei Mordechai’. Married the righteous Rebbetzin Rivka Tzirel daughter of the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham son and successor of the holy Rav and wonder worker Rabbi Yeshaye’le of Kerestir. For 6 years he lived with his father-in-law the Holy Rav Rabbi Yeshaye’le and basked in his warm righteousness and holiness and who showed him much affectionation.
Before the passing of Rabbi Yeshaye’le, he saw by Ruach HaKodesh that his son Rabbi Avraham’le will not merit to be Rabbi for to long,
he therefore gave much attention to his beloved grandson who will eventually succeed him and continue in his holy ways.
Many relate how people who were in need of a salvation, saw the holy Rabbi Yeshaye’le of Kerestir in a dream telling them to go to his successor – his grandson and from there will come their relief. It is also told about elderly Chassidim who came to pray at the holy grave-site and while falling asleep there Rabbi Yeshaye’le appeared to them in a dream saying your are searching up here, descend and go to my grandson, there you will be helped.
He toiled in Torah all his days, he loved every Jew immensely, following in his fathers-in-law’s and grandfather’s footsteps by welcoming guests with exceptional kindness. He continued on a high level inspiring an abundance of holiness, blessings and wealth upon the Jewish people who flocked to him from all the surroundings. Great sages of his generation and especially the Holy Rabbi Sholom Eliezer of Ratzfert, the Holy ‘Ohr Malei’ of Koson and the Holy Rabbi Elimelech of Tosh admired him and gave him much respect and honor. Many wonders are told and linked to his holiness.
Front binding, title page, and [7] last leaves are detached. Blemishes to binding, tear to the title page and blemish to its lower part not affecting the text, aging stains. Fair condition.
