Rabbi Sheraga (Philip) Goodman, (1911-2006) studied at New York College and Yeshiva University. In 1930 received his Hora’ah Semich from Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Hacohen Kook in Jerusalem. After his marriage, he returned to the USA, wrote a book on the Jewish festivals and filled central educational roles in the Jewish education system. In 1978 immigrated to Jerusalem with his family.
