The personal copy of the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Yaakov Naftali Zilberberg (1860-1930), one of the great rabbis of Warsaw. Was born to Rabbi Avraham Binyomin Av Beis Din of Kotna Virshov the publisher of the Seforim of the Maharal Tzintz, a descendant of Rabbi Moshe Yehuda Leib Zilberberg author of the Zayis Ra’anan. Rabbi Naftali was the disciple of Rabbi Yisroel Lipkin of Salant and the Beis Levi of Brisk. He was also close to the Natziv of Volozhin, the Chofetz Chaim and the Sefas Emes of Ger. Rabbi Naftali served for many years as Moreh Tzeddek in Warsaw. His stamp appears on the title page.
Appering on the title page is also the signature of Rabbi Asher Ze’ev Warner (1894-1957) the Rav of Tiberius. Was born in Jerusalem to Rabbi Simcha Bonem a Dayan at the Beis Din of HaEdah HaChareidis. Studied at the Toras Chaim yeshiva of th eOld City. Married the daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Matisyahu Sandberg and subsequently moved to Tiberius and studied at the Or Torah yeshiva. After being widowed, he married the daughter of Rabbi Aharon Yosef Luria, an important Slonim Chassid. Rabbi Aasher received his rabbinic Semicha from the Rav of the town Rabbi Moshe Clears. He served as a member of Mo’etzes Gedolei HaTorah of Agudas Yisroel.
