Wonderful letter by the holy Rav the Abir Yaakov of Sadigura to the Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Herzog about the saving of a Gaon and Chassid. Nissan, 1939.
Lengthy and wonderful letter handwritten by the personal scribe of the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura author of ‘Abir Yaakov’ and with the Rebbe’s handwritten signature, sent to the Chief Rabbi of Eretz Yisroel the renowned Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Isaac Halevi Herzog, with a touching request to save a dear soul in Vienna from the Nazis, the Tzaddik Gaon Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Teitelboim, one of Gedolei Hador and an important Ruzhin Chassid, a leading disciple of the renowned holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Kopitshnitz the in-law of the Abir Yaakov of Sadigura.
‘A great old Rav whose life was dedicated to the Torah … this Rav beside his Torah greatness is famed for his Yirah which precedes his Chochma, all his acquaintances indicate that he is one of the Yechidei Segulah of this generation. His name is Rabbi Yisroel Mordechai Teitelboim Shalita’.
The Abir Yaakov pleads that his name be entered into the new list of rabbis. He ends his letter with warm blessings.
