Eshel Avraham, by the Kabbalist Rabbi Mordechai Ashkenazi. Furth, [1701]. With Kabbalistic illustrations. First edition. The copy that was studied by the holy Rav Rabbi Yoel Zvi Roth Av Beis Din of Tisa Salka.

186 leaves, 32 cm. The title page is illustrated with a wooden engraving of the figures of Moshe and Aharon and the battle between David and Goliath. Many approbations at the beginning of the Sefer. With stamps "This Sefer belonged to the grandsons of the Admor of Tisa Salka" indicating this copy was owned by the Gaon Rabbi Yoel Zvi Roth Av Beis Din of Tisa Salka. On leaf 47, an ownership stamp of Rabbi Eliezer Davidovich.
Rabbi Mordechai Ashkenazi – for several years studied Kabbalah with Rabbi Avraham Rovigo at the yeshiva in his Rav’s house in Modena. In 1700, he travelled with his Rav to Germany for printing his Sefer "Eshel Avraham". Before his Rav immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Mordechai was sent to Jerusalem to organize a building for the yeshiva that was to be established by his Rav. In 1702, he and his family joined his Rav and his family together with additional disciples and immigrated to Eretz Yisroel. With their arrival in Jerusalem, Rabbi Mordechai, his wife and daughter perished in a plague.
The Holy Gaon Rabbi Yoel Zvi Roth Av Beis Din of Tisa Salka and the vicinity, was the grandson who was named after the holy Gaon Rabbi Yoel Zvi author of Shut Beis HaYotzer (one of the leading rabbis of Hungary). He married the daughter of the holy Rav Rabbi Chaim Shlomo author of the "Shemu’ah Tovah" of Koson the son of the holy Rav author of the "Bnei Shileshim". Rabbi Yoel Zvi was famed for his knowledge of all subjects of the Torah, knowing by heart the Bavli and Yerushalmi, Safra, Sifri and other Midrashim as well as the Ari’s writings.
Rabbi Eliezer ben Rabbi Mordechai Davidovich (1878-1942), Av Beis Din of the Michlovtza community (Czechoslovakia). A student of the yeshiva of Rabbi Moshe Greenwald, author of "Arugas HaBosem". Received his Hora’ah Semicha by his Rav and by Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Glock Av Beis Din of Tolchva and by Rabbi Chananya Lipa Teitelboim Av Beis Din of Siget. The son-in-law of Rabbi Menashe Simcha Friedman Av Beis Din of Sobrantz and the vicinity author of Sefer "MiKitvei HaShemesh Bigvuraso". Served as the Rav of the Chevras Mishnayos. Was known as the "Dayan of Stronian" (which was a neighborhood of Michlovtza) and was famed in Slovakia as a great expert on "Choshen Mishpas". In 1942, was deported to the area of Lublin, Poland where he was murdered with his family and community.
Remnants of his writings were found after the Holocaust and was published in Sefer "Ed Ya’aleh" (Ramat HaSharon, 1988).
Renewed binding, stains and dampness damage, gluing to the first and last leaves, fair-good condition.
