Rabbi Chaim (Meir) David Adams (1898-1950), was born in Greiva to his father Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Adamski. Already as a child, he was known as a prodigy, who started learning at the yeshiva of the Chofetz Chaim in Radin at the age of 9. When he was 18, he received his rabbinic Semicha from Rabbi Naftali Trop of the Radin yeshiva and from Rabbi Shimon Shkop and the rabbis of the Novhardok yeshiva. In 1919, he was appointed the Rav of Shchochin. In 1924, after being refused a visa to Eretz Yisroel, he immigrated to the USA, where he served as the Rav of a large community in New York and was famed for being a talented Darshan and a great Talmid Chacham. Later he served as the Rav of the "Anshei Emes" community of Pennsylvania and as a member of the unions of rabbis of the USA and Canada. In late 1929, he moved back to New York to serve as a Rav in Brooklyn and later as the Rav of a synagogue in Crown Heights. His sermons were published in Sefer "Ish Chamudos". In 1950, on the way to his son Tuvia’s wedding, he was killed in a road accident with his wife the Rebbetzen and their daughter.
Rabbi Aryeh Leib ben Rabbi Nachum Isser Heiman, studied in his youth at the Chofetz Chaim Yeshiva in Baltimore and later became a leading disciple and confidante of the Gaon Rabbi Aharon Kotler. Was Rosh Yeshivas Boston, author of the Sefer "Chikrei Lev" and Rav of the HaGra synagogue of the Bayis VaGan neighborhood of Jerusalem. Passed away in Sivan 2011. His biography was published in Sefer "Lev HaAri" (Jerusalem, 2018).
