Copy of two of the princes of Sadigura! Zehav Sevah, by Rabbi Nissim Algazi, Furth 1962, with the signature and stamp of the brothers-in-law the holy Rav Rabbi Nachum Ber Friedman and Rabbi Shlomo of Sadigura.
Sefer Zehav Seva, composition on Aggados and Leshonos of the Shas and the Sages, authored by Rabbi Nissim ben Rabbi Avraham Algazi. Second edition, Furth, 1692. Wood-engraving on the title page.
On the flyleaf, a handwritten signature ‘This Sefer belongs to Nachum Dov Ber Friedman’. On the title page, stamps of ‘Nachum Dober Friedman’, ‘Minchas Shai’ and a slightly blurred stamp of ‘Shlomo Friedman’ in Hebrew and a foreign language. A notation handwritten by the holy Rav Rabbi Shlomo ‘Kinyan Kaspi …[the notation is indistinct].
Rabbi Nachum Ber’s custom was to write on his Seforim, their source: ‘Minchas Shai’ (a gift), ‘Kinyan Kaspi’ or ‘Nachalas Avotai’.
This Sefer has the stamp of ‘Minchas Shai’ whereas the handwritten notation is of ‘Kinyan Kaspi’ with Rabbi Shlomo’s stamp on it. Apparently, Rabbi Shlomo had bought the Sefer, which he eventually gave his brother-in-law as a gift, or vice versa, Rabbi Nachum Ber recieved it as a gift and then sold it to his brother-in-law the holy Rav.
The Holy Rav Rabbi Nachum Beren’yu of Sadigura, married the daughter of his uncle the Holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov of Sadigura. The Chassidim treated them as Admorim and they were greatly admired by the Chassidim who told of their Torah greatness, sanctity and aristocracy.
The holy Rav Rabbi Shlomo [Shlominyu] of Sadigura (1843-1880) – the son of the first Admor of Sadigura, the holy Rav Rabbi Avraham Yaakov. By his first marriage he was the son-in-law of the holy Rav Rabbi Zvi Hirsch of Rimnov and by his second marriage, the son-in-law of his uncle the holy Rav Rabbi David Halperin, the son-in-law of the holy Rav Aterest Tiferes Yisroel of Ruzhin. The Tzaddikim of the generation, and especially his forefathers the holy Rav of Ruzhin and the holy Rav the Beis Aharon of Karlin, praised his sanctity using moving expressions. In his father’s lifetime, Avrechim gathered around him and he was supposed to succeed his father yet passed away during his holy father’s lifetime.
