Chessed LeAvraha, on Mishnayos Seder Zera’im, handwritten by the author, Rabbi Avraham ben Rabbi Yechiel Av Beis Din of Tomoshpil. ca. 1840.
Manuscript, the Chessed LeAvraham commentary on Mishnayos Seder Zera’im and on the commentaries of Rabbi Ovaday of Bertenura and the Tosfos Yom Tov. Autograph of the author, the renowned Chassid Rabbi Avraham Av Beis Din of Tomoshpil, which was published by his grandson Rabbi Yechiel Shapiro, in 1884 in Chernowitz, with approbations by important Admorim, Dayanim and Morei Hora’ah.
3-127, [1] leaves, 22 cm. Mispagination to leaves 50-51. Fine, dense script. Many slight textual variations.
The Gaon Rabbi Avraham, the son of Rabbi Yechiel of Vizhnitz, was a sharp Rav and renowned Chassid in his Torah and piety. For thirty years he served as Av Beis Din of Tomoshpil (Ukraine) and never left the tents of Torah and Hora’ah. Author of Sefer Chessed leAvraham on Mishnayos Seder Zera’im. The holy Rav Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Zinkiv said of him that his Sefer indicates that he studied Torah Lishmah and was Yereh Shamayim.
Renewed semi-leather binding, several leaves are missing from the beginning and end of the manuscript, stains, some moth holes, good condition.
