The rabbinic Rabbi Hersch Pinchas Hacohen Moskowitz ‘a precious stone of the Satmar community’ who was close to the holy Tzaddikim of Munkatch, Satmar and Schotz. A leading disciple of the Geonim of Hungary. A relative of the holy Gaon of Bilgoray. Eventually, he immigrated to the Holy Land and was one of the founders of the Batei Munkatch neighborhood and a Parnas of HaEidah HaChareidis of Jerusalem.
The holy Gaon the ‘Máder Rov’ Rabbi Mordechai Leib Winkler (1845-1932), a disciple of Maran the ‘Ketav Sofer’ at the Pressburg yeshiva. Served as Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva in Mád, Hungary. Author of the series of Seforim Levushei Mordechai Shut and more. One of the pillars of Hora’ah in Hungary and one of the great Meshivim of his generation. His many disciples included great scholars and Morei Hora’ah including Rabbi Mordechai Brisk author of Shut ‘MaHaram Brisk’, and Rabbi David Yehuda Zilberstein Av Beis Din of Veitzen. His son-in-law by his first marriage was the Maritz Dushinski Gaon Av Beis Din of Jerusalem.
