Lengthy and important letter written by the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Klonimus Kalmish Hoverband describing the holy court of his cousin the holy Rav of Piaseczno and the format and distribution of his famed Sefer Chovas Hatalmidim. Historical.
The letter was sent to a friend of the yeshiva living in Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Elimelech Ben Poras, a leading disciple of the Rav of Piaseczno who studied in Jerusalem at the Merkaz Harav yeshiva with Rabbi Kook. In the letter, he first describes the hundreds of young men studying Torah with the Admor, for whom the Sefer Bnei Machshava Tova was written.
Then he describes in detail the expense of printing of the wonderful Sefer Chovas Hatalmidin, ‘which has already made a strong impression’ yet is unattainable here in Poland and the costs of its printing are high. He deliberates whether to ask for an approbation from Rabbi Kook, to send him a copy and ask him ‘to write some warm lines for this Sefer’ so as to encourage buyers and cover the expenses of printing. He also asks him to publish the Sefer in the press of the Holy Land.
‘knowing how close you are to Maran the Tzaddik Rav Shalita and the warm affection with which you treat his honor Shalita, I am sure you will fulfill my wish for the best. Awaiting your reply’.
