[1] picture, 19X27 cm. Placed in a wood and glass frame 31X38 cm. Signature in a foreign language and the painter’s name on the lower part of the picture.
Rabbi Raphael Hacohen Katz (1722-1803), a disciple of his uncle the author of Sha’agas Aryeh at the Minsk Yeshiva and his successor as the Rosh Yeshiva. Served as Rav in several cities and since 1776, as the Rav of the Hamburg, Altona and Wanzibek communities. Author of Shut VeShav Hacohen and Sefer Toras Yekuti’el.
Rabbi Chaim Pickeler Natensohn (1838-1903) ben Rabbi Avraham. A famed Gaon, Av Beis Din of Židikai, Lithuania. Author of Sefer Drushim [manuscript], Sefer Divrei Chen (Piotrkow, 1904) and Sefer Siftei Chen on the Torah and innovations on the Shas and Poskim (Vilna, 1900).
Fold marks and wear along the fold lines, minor blemishes, stains, some of the paper under the painting is missing. Fair-good condition.
