[1] picture, 28X34 cm. placed in a wood and glass frame 40X46 cm. On the lower part of the picture, the painter’s signature in Hebrew and a foreign language "Chaim ben Rabbi Avraham the Ram of Foggelin", "Chaim Abrahim Natensohn".
Rabbi Aryeh Leib ben Rabbi Asher Ginzburg (1695-1785), one of the greatest Geonim and Poskim, taught Torah at the Minsk and Volozhin yeshivas and since 1765 was Rav, Av Beis Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Metz, northern France. Author the well-known Seforim Sha’agas Aryeh and Turei Even.
Rabbi Chaim Pickeler Natensohn (1838-1903) ben Rabbi Avraham. A famed Gaon, Av Beis Din of Židikai, Lithuania. Author of Sefer Drushim [manuscript], Sefer Divrei Chen (Piotrkow, 1904) and Sefer Siftei Chen on the Torah and innovations on the Shas and Poskim (Vilna, 1900).
Fold mark, wear and minor blemishes, stains. Fair condition.
