Kvitel – Pitkei DeRachamei – written by the holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Avraham of Skolen, for mercy, success and Naches from his son. Brooklyn, the year is unknown.

In it, he reminds himself to merit learning and teaching, keeping and observing the holy Torah, good livelihood and success, longevity and good years.

In addition, he mentions the pious Rebbetzin Mrs. Reizel and his son and successor in Jerusalem, the Tzaddik Rav Rabbi Shmuel Mordechai, today, the Admor of Skolen in Jerusalem, that they merit seeing Naches from him and a worthy match.

The first words which include the Rebbe’s first name were handwritten by him. The rest of the Kvitel was written by the Gabai on behalf of the Rebbe, who dictated the version word for word.

The Holy Rav Rabbi Yisroel Avraham Portugal of Skolen (1923-2019) was born to his father the Holy Rav Rabbi Eliezer Zussia. He suffered many torments during the Holocaust. He worked for saving orphans of the World War and releasing prisoners of the terrible Soviet rule. With his arrival to the USA, he attracted many who came to him for advice and blessings, which were always fulfilled.
