Two letters sent by the Posek Hora’ah and famed Gaon Rabbi Avraham Dov Ber Kahana Shapiro author of Dvar Avraham to the physician Dr. Yaakov Levi. Kovno, 1937.
Two letters handwritten by the great Gaon Rabbi Avraham Dober Kahana Shapiro of Kovno, the Dvar Avraham, both dealing with a shipment of books and writing comments on them.
The letters were sent to the renowned physician Rabbi Yaakov Halevi. He refers to the Yeshurun journal and the issued that were published, noting that he had written glosses on their leaves.
The great Gaon Rabbi Avraham Dober Kahana Shapiro, author of the Dvar Avraham [1870-1943], the Rav of Kovno and one of the Gedolei Torah between the two world wars. Passed away in Ghetto Kovno before the Holocaust. Was also famed for a trip he took with Rabbi Kook and the Gaon Rabbi Moshe Mordechai Epstein to America for the yeshivas of Lithuania.
