A document handwritten and signed by the Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zacuto – the Remez and his Beis Din, about clarifying the purity of a pedigree and Kashrus. Mantova, Teves 1675.
"We the undersigned … sent for Yaakov … and questioned and interrogated him under duress … to tell us what his nature is …"
The document is hand-signed by him and by two rabbis, Dayanim including his important disciple Rabbi Yehuda ben Rabbi Eliezer Bri’el.
Manuscript by the Remez is extremely rare despite the many compositions that were printed from his manuscripts.
The Divine Kabbalist Rabbi Moshe Zacuto, the Remez, one of the greatest contemporary Kabbalists of Italy, a disciple of Rabbi Chaim Vital and the Shela and distributor of Kabbalah in Italy. The Rav of Venice and eventually, Rosh Yeshiva and Rav of Mantova. The Rav the Chida wrote that he was his "Maggid from Heaven". Passed away in 1698, the year of birth of the Besht.
