Collection of letters that were sento to Rabbi Moshe Shimon Sobol, The Carpenter Rav, and his family. 1930s-1960s. 

More than [200] letters, aerograms and postcards that were sent by the family of Rabbi Moshe Sobol and to them. Yiddish and Hebrew. Including [3] letters by Rabbi Shimon Chaim Chilinovich, the manager of the Makov yeshiva. 1930s-1960s. 

Family archive with a correspondence containing hundreds of letters, aerograms and postcards, which were collected since the 1930s for over 20 years. One of the letters by Rabbi Shimon Chaim Chilinovich is written on official stationery. 

Rabbi Moshe Shimon Sobol (1873-1962), the Carpenter Rav. Immigrated to Eretz Yisroel from Grodno in 1922 and lived in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Author of Sefer Ta’ir Neri (Jerusalem, 1959), with many approbations including an approbation by the Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Yitzchak IsaavcHerzog, the Rav of Tel Aviv Rabbi Isser Yehuda Unterman and the Gaon of Tshebin. Served as Shadar of the Diskin orphanage and used to teach the public Torah for many years. 

Rabbi Shimon Chaim Chilinovich – a great Ger Chassid, the son of the founder of the yeshiva of Makov (Makov-Mazovitzk of the Lomzha district), its Rosh Yeshiva and manager, Rabbi Noteleh, Rabbi Nosson Note Yehuda Chilinovich. Succeeded his father as the manager of the yeshiva until it was closed down during World War I. Rabbi Shimon Chaim was the disciple of the Gaon Rabbi Elchonon Spektor Av Beis Din of Kovno and studied at the Prushim Kollel there. Perished in the Holocaust. 

Some of the envelopes, aerograms and postcards are blemished due to the ripping of the corners with the postage stamps. Conditions vary. Good general condition.
