Rabbi Raphael Yosef ibn Ruby ben Yehuda – one of the rabbis of Jerusalem who signed in 1776 the Takanas HaYishuv. Was sent as a Shadar to Ashkenaz and Holland, returning to Jerusalem after four years. Author of Sefer Derech HaMelech on the Rambam. Was greatly praised by the Chida (on leaf 112 of this Sefer) and Rabbi Yom Tov Algazi, who approbated the Sefer. Is referred to in the Sefer Gedolei Italia by Rabbi Chananel Nifo. Passed away in Sivan 1795 and was laid to rest on the Mount of Olives.

New, elegant leather binding, moth holes, stains, gluing to the margins of the title page not affecting the text, good-very good condition.
