Letters sent by the greatest zealot of Jerusalem, Rabbi Amram Blau, the leader of Neturei karta in the Holy Land, on matters of education and observing the Sabbath in Jerusalem.

* Letter from 1962, sent to Rabbi Berish Frankel, the in-law of the Rav of brisk.

In his letter, Rabbi Amram asks him to organize the conference of the rabbis of HaEdah HaChareidis in Bnei Berak for building large and spacious buildings for the offices of HaEdah HaChareidis in Jerusalem. Letters written on the official stationery of HaEdah HaChareidis are relatively few.

With Rabbi Amram’s handwritten signature and a stamp of HaEdah HaChareidis.

* Letter from 1972, written to a relative of the Chazon Ish, Rabbi David Frankel – the brother of the aforementioned Rabbi Berish = with a rare request to support the struggles for the Sabbath in Jerusalem. ‘We are concerned about the funds invested in the struggle for our holy Sabbath’ and he asks to assist a dignified Jew who is travelling to Bnei Berak to raise funds for this worthy cause. ‘I will ask to show him the way as much as it is possible for him and as much his precious time allows’.

The entire letter is handwritten and signed by him.

The rest of the leaf is with meaningless notations.

Rabbi Amram ben Rabbi Yitzchak Shlomo Blau (1900-1974), left Agudas Yisroel in 1935 claiming that it is cooperating with the Zionists to save Jews from the Holocaust. Founded the "Chevras Chaim" which eventually became known as "Neturei Karta". As the leader of Neturei Karta, he adopted an uncompromising separatist policy. He refused to acknowledge the state of Israel, refused to receive governmental budgets and more. He was also known as the organizer of hostile demonstrations against Chilul Shabbat, the opening of mixed swimming pools in Jerusalem and autopsies, during which he was often beaten or arrested.
