Lengthy letter by the Gaon of Tshebin Rabbi Dov Berish Weidenfeld with a call to support his yeshiva, Kochav MiYaakov Tshebin. Jerusalem, 1955. 


The letter, which is typewritten with the handwritten signature of Maran the Gaon of Tshebin, was sent to Rabbi Yoel Ashkenazi of Antwerp, with a request to continue his support of the yeshiva and it rabbinic manager Rabbi Mordechai Mundshein who was sent to raise funds for the yeshiva. 

The great Gaon Posek Hador Rabbi Dov Berish Wiedenfeld [1881-1966] the Rav of Tshebin. ‘Tshebiner Rov’ was a title for great genius, with his wonderous leadership of his generation, his modesty and nobility of his virtues. He was a Chassid of the Holy Rav of Husiatyn and also followed the Tzaddikim of Belz. One of the leaders of Moeztes Gedolei HaTorah and Agudas Yisroel and one of its guides. Immigrated to the Holy Land after being an exile in Bukhara and Siberia. Immigrated to the Holy Land after years of wandering in Bukhara and Siberia and established in Jerusalem the Kochav MiYaakov Yeshiva. Was admired by all religious Jews wherever they be.
