80 [i.e. 79] leaves, 33 cm. The first section referred to on the title page as Torah Achas was apparently not printed.
Rabbi Yehuda Leib Margolis (1747-1811) one of the greatest Poskim. Received his Hora’ah Semicha by the Nodah BiYehuda at the age of 18. Since the age of 20 served as Rav in Sochatchov, Kopitshnitz, Biznov, Chatin, Shabreshin, Bleslo and Plock. Also served as a travelling Darshan and during his travels visited Vilna, where he met with HaGra and became his Meshamesh. Since 1804 succeeded the Pri Megadim as the Rav of Frankfurt an der Oder. Authored many Seforim on all subjects of the Torag, science and philosophy, including Tov VeYaffe, Korban Reshis, Beis Midos, Or Olam and more. Strongly opposed to Mendelssohn and the Enlightenment Movement. His important Sefer Psika, Pri Tevuah, is cited many times in Sefer Sha’arei Teshuvah and the Mishnah Berurah.
Simple binding, partly detached, moth damage, stains, fair-good condition.
