The personal copy of Rabbi Zvi Ish Horowitz. Rare edition with corrections of the errors of the first edition [Karlsruhe, 1875-1877].
[1], 86, 88-116, 115-213; 186 [i.e. 185], [5] leaves, bluish paper, 33 cm. Mispagination. With a foreword by Rabbi Yisroel ben Rabbi Nosson Note Eibeschutz, which are repeatedly copied in all the following editions. The place of printing was omitted and replaced with an elongated ornament, across the title page. On the title page, an owner’s signature "Zvi Hirsch Ish Horowitz of Dokla".
Rabbi Zvi Ish Horowitz – ben Rabbi Aryeh Leib Horowitz. A Gaon and Tzaddik famed for his Prishus. For forty years ate only dairy products and was therefore known as "Rabbi Hirsch Milchiger" In 1830 was one of the leading sages of Shklow.
