Rabbi Yosef Zecharya Stern (1831-1903) a sharp and knowledgeable Gaon, author of Sefrei Zecher Yehosef and many other Seforim: Shut, innovations on the Bavli and Yerushalmi Shas, commentary on the Passover Haggadah, on Chamesh Megilos and Aggados Chazal, innovations on the Rambam, on the Shulchan Aruch and more. The son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Gimpel Yaffe. For more than 40 years was the Rav of Shavaly (Lithuania). Was famed for his phenomenal memory and was known as the "HaRav HaZocher".
