Collection of varied letters and copies of letters and parts of letters and stamps by Maran the great Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer Gridzinsky of Vilna, the president of Mo’etzes Gedolei HaTorah.
* Copy of a lengthy letter, on two pages, in which the Gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer clraifies his position on the Heter Mechira during the Shemitah which is customary in Eretz Yisroel. He states that even according to the rabbis who permit the Heter Mechirah, the land must not be worked by Jews.
The gaon Rabbi Chaim Ozer strongly protests against what was written in the Morgen Journal that supposedly working the land during the Shemita is Piku’ach Nefesh, which is not true.
Rabbi Chaim Ozer repeats his call to support the observers of the Shemitah and assist them. He notes that the Ridbaz himself, although supporting the Heter Mechirah, travelled to Paris to raise funds for observers of the Shemitah.
