The holy Rav Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson author of Tzemach Tzeddek [1789-1866]. Third leader of the Chabad dynasty. One of the greatest Tzaddikim and Poskei Halachah in his generation, revered and sublime by all great men of the generation. He was raised in the home of his grandfather, the Holy Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the ‘Ba’al HaTanya’. He was the son-in-law of his uncle the Mitteler Rebbe the holy Rav Rabbi Dov Ber, and after the passing of his father-in-law succeeded him. His sefer Shut Tzemach Tzeddek hints to his name [מנחם בגימטריא צמח, מענדל בגימטריא צדק]. He authored many additional seforim in Halacha and Chassidus, very deep and extensive.
Rabbi Yitzchak Eliezer ben Rabbi Elyakum Getzil Benkowitz (1854-1963) a renowned Rav and Gaon. Served as Rav of three Russian communities, immigrated to the USA and served as Av Beis Din of the Tzemach Tzeddek and Sha’arei Zion communities in Chelsea, Massachusetts. Passed away in Iyar 1963.
