Sefer Higayon HaNefesh, allso known as HaMussar, by the ancient Rabbi Avraham Bar Chiya HaNassih, Leipzig, [1860], copy with the handwritten signature of the famed great Gaon Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer the Rav of Orthodox Jewry of Ashkenaz. 


A copy with the handwritten signature ‘Azriel Hildesheimer’ and his stamp in a foreign language. 


The Sefer is full of enquires into science and wisdom, love and Yiras Hashem. Includes comments and forewords by the head of the Beis Midrash of Prague Rabbi Shlomo Yehuda Leib Rappaport, and the author’s biography. Published by Yitzchak Isaac ben Rabbi Yehuda Leib Frieman of Krakow in Leipzig, [1860]. 

 

The famed Gaon Rabbi Azriel Hildesheimer [1820-1899] leader of Orthodox Jewry in Ashkenaz. A senior disciple of the great Geonim of Ashkenaz, the holy Gaon the Aruch Laner and the holy Gaon Rabbi Yitzchak Bernays. The Rav of Eisenstadt and eventually, Av Beis Din of Berlin, where he also established the famed Beis Midrash for rabbis, which opposed reform Jewry. Was one of the bequeathers of the method of Torah with Derech Eretz.  

[3], V-LXIII, 43 leaves. Two title pages, one in Hebrew and the other in a foreign language. Original binding, detached in its back. On the binding, a sticker with the mistaken title Higayon Lev. Good condition.
