Letter by the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkle Abramski, with his handwritten signature. London, 1946.

Explaining the difference between the writing of "Hamechuneh" and the writing of "Demitkarei" in Gittin, when the husband or wife have two names in different languages; a letter by the Gaon Rabbi Yechezkel Abramski to the memebers of the Beis Din of Haifa. London, 1946.

[1] leaf, official stationery of Badatz London and the State, 21 cm. In the letter, which was handwritten and signed by Rabbi Abramski, he explains the Rema, elucidating that on a Gett, before the husband’s foreign name, it should be written "Demitkarei" when this name is not the Hebrew name with which he is called to read the Torah. When there is a connection between the names, "Hamechuneh" should be written. He adds that "the wife’s name differs in this regard from the husband’s" since if her chief name is the foreign one, "Demitkarei" should be written before her Hebrew name.

A similar elucidation of the Rama’s words was written by rabbi Abramski in a letter from 1938 to Rabbi Yitzchak Kosovsky, Av beis Din of Johannesburg. which was printed in Kol HaTorah, issue 82 (Nissan, 2016), p. 218.
